MC Oluomo Biography

Musiliu Akinsanya popularly known as MC Oluomo, is a Nigerian politician and businessman. He is regarded as the most richest and influential agbero in Lagos.

Born in Oshodi, Lagos in March 14 19975, MC Oluomo grew up in a struggling polygamous family. Following the death of his father, he dropped out of school.

At the age of 13, MC Oluomo ran away from home and started working as a bus driver in Oshodi park.  Later, he got promoted as the head of a Oshodi motor park.

As the head of the Oshodi motor company park, MC Oluomo became influential and highly popular among commercial drivers and locals.

Due to his increasing influence, MC Oluomo emerged as the chairman of the National Transport of Road workers.  Since his appointment, MC Oluomo have gained lots of media attention.

Also, Oluomo have since hitting involve in Lagos State politics and election. In fact, he is one of the key players during elections in the state. This is because his buses are used to convey electoral materials to polling unit.

He is also a member of the All Progressive Congress and an ally of the APC’s Presidential Candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Education

Oluomo attended Afolabi Primary School in Oshodi and Olu Efon Primary School in Abeokuta for his elementary education before dropping out.

MC Oluomo Career

MC Oluomo started as a bus conductor and public bus driver before joining the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW).

Later, he become the treasurer of the Oshodi branch before emerging as the chairman of the union. Due to his promotion, Oluomo attach himself to several big political names, including All Progressive Congress presidential  candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Through out his career, MC Oluomo has been accused of being a tool of election thuggery and using NURTW members as weapon to disrupt elections in Lagos state.

In 2019, MC Oluomo was stabbed in the neck by rival thug groups. Due to numerous accusations and complaints, the national body of the NURTW dissolved the administrative council of the Lagos chapter.

The union also accused MC Oluomo of misconduct, insubordination, and incitement. Reacting to the dissolution of the council, MC Oluomo withdrew the state chapter from the national body of the union.

Also activities of the union in the state was then ban by the Lagos state government. Shortly after that, the state governor Sanwo-Olu then set up the Lagos Parks and Garages Management Committee  while appointing Oluomo as its chairman.

Controversies

MC Oluomo is known for his numerous controversial political issues. During the EndSARS protest in October 2020, Oluomo was accused of sending thugs to disrupt the protest.

However, he denied the accusations while stating he has nothing to die with the violence caused during the protest. He also denied being involved in imposing a levy on motor and tricycle drivers for political stickers of Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
