He was born and raised in Calais village (Tzaneen), Limpopo in the year 1996.

Master KG was very passionate about music while growing up, so much, that he even faked illness so that he could stay in his bedroom to do what he loved.
Even though it appeared cheeky at that time, it turned out very helpful in his music career.

At the age of 13, he started playing with beats. He did all this on a computer bought for him by his late uncle, who was very supportive of his talent.

He then linked up with DJ Maebela, and together they started experimenting with music software and perfecting their art.

In 2016 when Master KG was popping up in the music industry, he already had a full arsenal of beat-making instruments and skills.

He is one of the best house music musicians, as well as producers in South Africa. This is seen in his 2018 Skeleton Move album which gained several nominations and awards.

His debut studio album Skeleton Move achieved acclaim including an AFRIMA Award for Best Artist/Group in the African Electro category.
He is also known as the pioneer of “Bolobedu” dance.

Master KG started and completed his primary and secondary school education in Tzaneen, South Africa.

He graduated in 2015 from Calais Secondary School, Maruleng Rural, Limpopo.

2018 was a very successful year in Master KG’s career as he bagged several nominations and awards both locally and internationally.
He won the best artist group in the African electro, at the AFRIMA Awards.
He was also nominated in three categories at the Limpopo Music Awards for best dance song where Skeleton Move won.
Other nominations included the best music video and song of the year. Master KG Skeleton also won song of the year at the SABC Summer Song 2018 award.

Master KG‘s career in music took a different turn when he came into collaboration with DJ Maebela. They practiced numerous times with the music beats production application FL Studios. His first music track was released in 2016 titled Situation.

After releasing his first single, he was noticed and quickly signed up by the South African music record label Open Mic Productions. He released his debut album titled, Skeleton Move which was well and widely received by South Africans in 2018. The song Skeleton Move which featured Zanda Zakuza received the radio station Thobela FM’s song of the year.

He has a unique music style and sings in his local language Khelobedu and has performed beyond the walls of South Africa in several African countries like Zambia.

He has collaborated with several South African artists and recently collaborated with Burna Boy and Nomcebo Zikode to release the remake of Jerusalema.

Personal Life

Master KG has no children and he is not married. He was in a relationship with the beautiful South African singer, Makhadzi before the two split up in 2020 during the COVID-19 lockdown.

The reason behind this breakup with his girlfriend was never published. However, they’re estranged now.
