8 feared dead in stampede as Port Harcourt residents jostle for Christmas palliative

Eight people are feared dead in a stampede for free Christmas palliatives in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The incident happened around 7:30am on Tuesday, December 15, at Rumudara Town, Obio/Akpor LGA, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

According to Vanguard, the stampede incident happened at an office allegedly owned by Pinkcoin, an online blockchain digital assets designed for giving charity.

Pinkcoin had announced that everyone who registered with them in Obio/Akpor LGA to come and collect their Christmas palliatives, on Tuesday.

There was a huge crowd turned up and the crowd couldn’t be controlled by the organization as many people struggled to get access into the premises of the firm.

Unfortunately, some people were stampeded and feared dead.

Also, video of the incident has enraged as huge crowd is seen in the video while waiting to collect free food stuff for Christmas.

An eyewitness on Facebook also shared hiw the incident happened.
