The actor was suffering from blood clotting that led to the amputation of his right leg. On October 18, 202, Mr Ibu in a viral video shared on his Instagram page, seeked for public aide.

In the video, Mr Ibu said he has been battling with numerous health challenges for years. Nigerians donated millions to help fly him abroad for medical treatment.

On March 2, stories of John Okafor death was circulating on social media platform as fans of the actor prays for him following news of cardiac arrest.

The actor was admitted at Ever-care Hospital for treatment after he was declared unable to fly abroad by the doctors.

The rumors is true, as Actor John Okafor popularly known as Mr Ibu is dead. The actor passed on today, March 2, 2024 at a Lagos hospital following a cardiac arrest.

According to family sources, Mr Ibu has been on life support after undergoing second surgery for his ailment.

Also, sources said his blood pressure was very high after the surgery and efforts made by doctors to stabilize him failed.
