Born in Mpumalanga and raised in Pretoria, where he still resides, Motha embarked on a DJ career in 2009 that merged EDM with Afrobeat-infused house.
Moving away from EDM and toward the amapiano genre that he helped to pioneer, he issued his acclaimed debut album, Avenue Sounds, via House Afrika Records in 2016, and found bigger success two years later with the singles “Amabele Shaya” and “Umshove,” which featured guest vocals from amapiano contemporary Leehleza.

In 2009, his career as a Deejay kicked off at the time, he focused on the Afro-fused house and EDM music genres. In 2016, Kabza De Small started producing music and released his debut album titled ‘Avenue Sounds’. He dropped the song under House Afrika Records, his former record label.
In 2018, he walked into the spotlight upon dropping hit singles, ‘Amabele Shaya’ and ‘Umshove’. The song made waves in the South African music scene.
On the 3rd of January 2019, he dropped the song ‘Bamba La’ after collaborating with Leehleza. His hit lead single, ‘Koko’ supported the album, and still in the same year, he dropped two (2) studio albums Piano Hub and Pretty Girls love.

In June the next year, 2020, Kabza dropped another solo album titled ‘I Am The King Of Amapiano: Sweet & Dust’. The album featured both local and international stars in the entertainment industry. Artist featured include Burna Boy, Wizkid, DJ Maphorisa, Sha Sha, Daliwonga, Daliwonga, Bontle Smith, and Samthing Soweto.
