Adamu Garba was born on the 6 June 1982 at Luggere ward, Jimeta, Yola-North Local Government Area of Adamawa State, Nigeria.

Being born in the rural area of Jambutu, Adamawa State, Adamu Garba was born in to the family of Alhaji-Adamu Jauro Garba and Hajiya Hadiza Garba.

Speaking about his earlier life, Garba said it was adventurous growing up and that he did everything children of his age did, from fishing , fetching firewood, hunting etc.

He had his primary education at Jambutu primary school until his primary 4, when he was transferred to Luggere primary school. His secondary school was at GDSS Doubeli in 2001.

Adamu got admission in to a pre degree program at  Kano State University of Technology to study electrical engineering. During his third year at the institution, he got rusticated after a riot broke out and his education ended abruptly. 

Not giving up on his dreams, he enrolled at the NIIT Kano to continue with his tertiary education. He studied Microsoft Systems and technology, attaining its MSCE certification.

Career and Politics

Adamu Garba II is the founder and CEO of IPI Solutions Nigeria Limited, a cloud computing company, headquartered in Lagos. 

He started his professional career at the age of 24, when he moved to Lagos State. He decided to set up his own IT firm after working in varying industries ranging from IT to oil and gas. 

He became popular after he declared his intentions to run for President of Nigeria under the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Adamu became the youngest person  to contest of 2019 presidential election at the age of 36 years.

Personal Life

Adamu Garba is happily married to Khadija Garba and the union is blessed with four children; Innawuro Khadija, Bapetel, Dadaji and Muhammad Hammajam.

He is also a devoted Muslim and also an Islamic scholar.

Controversies

Adamu is also known for his controversial views and politics. In October 2020, he sued the founder and CEO of Twitter, Jack Dorsey  $1 billion lawsuit at the Federal High Court Abuja, over his role in the #EndSARS protests.

In February 2021, Adamu faced backlash from Nigerians after he supported CBN decision to ban Cryptocurrency trading in Nigeria.

In a tweet made by Adam, he said that inventing in cows is better than cryptocurrency as he urged Nigerians to invent in what he called “Cowtocurrency”
