Man dies after his 18-year-old girlfriend set him ablaze in Benue State

A man identified as Chidinma Ikechukwu Omah, has been set ablaze by his 18-year-old girlfriend, Esther Alex.

Esther reportedly set him ablaze with petrol at around 2:am on Monday, January 11, 2021, in his room apartments while he was asleep in Wadata, Makurdi, Benue State.

According to Police Public Relations Officer for Benue Command, DSP Catherine Anene, the suspect who is from Olachagbaha area of the State has been arrested.

The couple has been together for over two years but had a misunderstanding after the man continued to delay in getting married to Esther.

Esther reportedly threatened to kill the deceased each time they had issues and had once vowed to hire assassins to kill him.

The young lady once according to reports. poisoned his food but as lucky after he refused to eat the food and gave it to a dog to eat instead.

Omah reportedly went to his village in Enugu, on December 2019 and performed traditional marriage ceremony of his proposed wife thereby aggravating their issues.
