Ntombizanele Beauty Sifuba, popularly known as Zanele Sifuba, is a South African Politician and activist.

Born in 1966, Zanele Sifuba who is 56 years old, is also a teacher, mother to 3 children, activist and adventure seeker.

Education

In 1988, Sifuba obtained a bachelor of arts in education from Vista University. From the Central University of Technology, she holds a bachelor of psychology.

Also in 2107, Sifuba attained a postgraduate diploma in governance and political transformation from the University of the Free State.

Career

Sifuba began her political career during her teaching career in various schools such as Letjhabile Adult School, Letsete Secondary School and
Bambanani ABET Centre.

She also held various leadership positions in the South African Demovratic Teachers Union. She was tdeputy provincial chairperson of COSATU.

Political career

 

However, the speaker ventured fully in to her political career in 1995. Sifuba got elected deputy secretary of the African National Congress in the party’s President Steyn region.

Sifuba was placed twelfth on the ANC’s provincial list on March 2019.  This came after she won the ANC won 19 seats in the Free State Provenicial Legislature.

On 22 May 2019, she was elected speaker the same day she was as an MPL.
