Singers Omar Lay and Tems arrested by Uganda police

Nigerian singer Omar Lay and Tems has been arrested by Katwe police in Uganda after they had performance in a concert.

According to reports, the singers were  arrested by the Katwe Police in Uganda along side their managers, manger of the venue identified as  Dungu Ivan and also the events manager Prim Kasana.

The singers are allegedly accused of performing in a large congregation which is the against the COVID-19 guideline in Uganda.

The concert took place on Saturday after the singers and organizers of the show was warned nog to perform due to COVID-19.

The assistant Superintendent of police and deputy police spokesman of Kampala police in a statement released on Twitter, wrote;

Nigerian Artist Omah lay has been arrested by katwe police  , the manager  of the venue one Dungu Ivan  and the Events manager Prim Kasana  are also in custody. More details to follow.

“Temilade Openiyi Aka Ms Tems (Artist) also been arrested with her manager Muyiwa Awomiyi”
