Born in 1995 in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, Nozi Sibiya is a South African singer, songwriter and performer.

She was announced as one top 12 of the Idols SA season 18. Sibiya started singing at a very young age. Her music career was encouraged by her family which inspired her to audition for Idols SA 2016.

Career

Nozi Sibiya started singing from an early age. But she became a professional singer when she auditioned for Idols SA in 2016.

However,  she wasn’t picked after auditioning which made her almost give up her dream to become a singer.

After she didn’t make it to the first cut of Idols SA 2016, Nozi was encouraged by her mother not to give up on her dream.

This inspired her to audition again in 2022. However this time, she got in, becoming top 2 contestants on the show.

Although the show is still on, Nozi is one of the favorite contestants. She became even more famous after American singer Jennifer Hudson tweeted and applauded her after she performed her song “Giving Yourself ”

“If I was there, she would have caught a shoe. She did that!!” Hudson tweeted.

Also speaking on how happy she was to be on the show, Nozi said “ I’m excited for South Africa to get to know me”
